Step 4 of the insight workflow · competitive intelligence from primary sources

Who Else
Does This

Type a company, or a feature you want to build. The tool pulls the landscape as the market actually types it, then builds a live card for each player: what they are, how long they have existed, whether attention is rising, what their community and app-store signals say, and where their pricing lives, with its history. Steps 1 and 2 build the evidence and segments on the Patient Psychology Map; step 3 mines the demand in the Demand Miner; this step maps who already serves it.

Everything on this page is fetched live; nothing is synthesized. What it cannot know, it says: business pricing numbers are not public data anywhere, and competitive advantage is a judgment. This page assembles the evidence for that judgment and leaves the verdict to you. Your input goes to the named public APIs, two of them through small functions on this site that forward the lookup and store nothing.

Live queries against Google suggest, Wikidata, Wikipedia, Hacker News and the App Store. Click any discovered rival to re-center the map on it.

Reading advantage from these signals. Advantage is a judgment; these are the inputs the page can prove:
  • Founded year is incumbency: distribution and inertia, not necessarily better product.
  • Attention trend (readers, 12 months) is momentum: a rising rival with a later founding date is the one to study hardest.
  • App ratings at volume are the closest public thing to review truth for consumer products.
  • Hacker News points are developer mindshare, which predicts integrations and hiring more than revenue.
  • Pricing pages and their archive history show structure and how it changed, which is strategy in the open. The numbers inside are the only pricing facts that exist publicly.
To claim an advantage, validate with five customers who switched between any two of these players, in either direction.
